You know how you get these piles of rejection letters, and then you get the rogue acceptance that says: YO! Campeye! Bring it! August 2010!
And you gotta be like: Whoa.Yeah. You see them headlights thru the highway flies. Someone gets the way I’m navigating the liminal seam tween animal and us, mulling: animate.
So uh . . . crash on the splash and disarray, hey? Is that August boat chartered or can I barter? 5 minutes in the time management closet with you?
Cannonball . . . I know you want to be the bull in the heather. Eagle Eye: I know you’re a real cuckoo. Crimson Road: throw them dates to hell, pup. Library! You know you wanna go!! and Doughnut - neither black nor white, right? And Sundog, shit!! My roadsister: Foam at the mouth, and let’s knock them out . . .23rd Aug and beyond? We have to laugh, cause we’re not at port. Never been good with dates, eh Corenski. Timber, timber falling down: Vote for the extension . . .
CampEye Comet has let us in on a cheap contest to enter with FreeFall Magazine. It seems made for us to win and be heard. Crimson Road, you don’t even needs an envelope or stamps to enter!
I received this notice from local dramatist Scott Shannon. I give Bob my endorsement as well (he’s a good actor and great personality, the poetry of his I know is often humorous and hits the intended mark). -CC
March 15th @8pm in the Alumni Memorial Building (next to Memorial Hall), in the Lounge.
It’s Bob and two others reading. Nonetheless, I would highly suggest coming out if for nothing else than the sheer drama & entertainment of Bob’s reading — I think we could all agree the guy can be a captivating performer. I am a fan of his poetry and moreso after being able to take his voice home with me and hear him reading the words.
Anyway, I believe I had raved about his poetry to each of you on one occasion or another, so I thought I’d pass along that he’s reading on that date in case you wanted to check it out.
Leaf Garden Press, is going to publish two of my poems for their upcoming 9th issue. They have chosen the poems, “Greasy, Grey Corpse (Smells Like McD’s)” and “Yes, Extremism”. The journal is available online for free pdf download, and can also be ordered in physical form. The theme of the upcoming issue is “experimental works”. So I guess I’m experimental! Who woulda thunked it?
